Quiet, and right in the middle of hiking country
Camping Park Hammelbach sits in a very quiet spot on the edge of Hammelbach, a village belonging to Grasellenbach. All around: forests, meadows and valleys with wide views across the Odenwald. The site itself is laid out like a park, with mature trees and hedges between the pitches.
Well-marked footpaths lead straight from the site into the countryside, among them routes towards the Tromm and the Nibelungensteig long-distance trail. If you prefer two wheels, the valleys offer varied cycling, and mountain bikers will find descents at every level of difficulty.
The site is run by the Hörr family, and it shows: the grounds are cared for, the paths are clean, and when you have a question you get an answer at reception rather than from a hotline.

Common questions before you arrive
When is Camping Park Hammelbach open?
The site is open to tourists from 1 April to 31 October. Long-stay campers can use it all year round. Access is possible daily from 7 am to 1 pm and from 3 pm to 10 pm, with the midday rest in between.
Can I turn up without booking?
Outside the peak season there is usually a pitch available. During the German summer holidays, on long weekends and over public holidays we recommend enquiring in advance, because there are only 35 tourist pitches. A short message through the enquiry form or a phone call is enough.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes. Dogs are welcome and cost 4.00 EUR per day. Walking routes begin directly at the site, so daily walks are easy.
Are showers and Wi-Fi included?
Yes. Showers are included, with no coins or tokens needed. Wi-Fi is also available at no extra charge.
Are there shops nearby?
The site has a kiosk, gas bottles and a bread roll service. For a bigger shop there are stores in the village, plus restaurants in Hammelbach - the list with opening hours is available as a PDF in the downloads section.
How far is the swimming pool?
The outdoor pool with a paddling pool for children is about 300 metres away, roughly a five-minute walk. Larger pools such as the Miramar in Weinheim or the Odenwaldtherme are a short drive.
